Appreciative Love - Rukmini Devi Dasi | Gratitude | Christmas Special

Rukmini Devi Dasi joined the ISKCON society in San Francisco in 1968. She then traveled to Montreal to meet Srila Prabhupada with the six devotees who were on their way to open the temple in London. She was initiated in Montreal and later served in Boston as an artist and then pujari there and in New York City. In 1972, she was sent by Srila Prabhupada to Mayapur with a group of artists to learn the art of "putul", clay doll-making for creating teaching dioramas.These diorama exhibitions were later completed in Los Angeles and Detroit. She is married to Anuttama Das, ISKCON's Global Minister of Communications. For twenty-five years together they owned a business called, As Kindred Spirits which supported many ISKCON outreach projects. She is the founder of the Urban Devi sanga and website (urbandevi.com). She leads retreats and women's sangas in the US. She is a board member on the Bhakti Center in New York City. She lives in the metropolitan Washington, DC area with her husband. The kirtan artist, Gaura Vani, is her son.
