Musical Dhyana on Raga Megh (Monsoon season) SITAR by Sri Bhakti Das

Megh is a Hindustani classical raga. The meaning of Megh in Sanskrit is 'Cloud'. Hence this raga is mostly sung or played in the Monsoon season. This raga is related from Lord Krishna. It is said that Lord Krishna has a voice as deep as a cloud resounding in the sky. It is also believed that when Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan hill during the Govardhan lila on His left little finger to protect the Vrajawasis, at that time Lord Shiva generated a Damru sound to protect Lord Krishna. That sound which was generated by the Damru was raga MEGH.
