Padyatra was organised as an integral part of ISKCON by Srila Prabhupada to fulfill the divine prophecy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu of spreading The Holy Names in every town and village. This tradition is still kept alive by His Holiness Loknatha Swami Maharaja. The Orissa-Bengal Padyatra has reached Purushottampur village, located in Ganjam zilla of Odisha. The padyatra devotees organized Narsimha Chaturdashi festival with great jubilation. Various programmes such as abhishek, kirtan, lecture and prasad were lined up. The padyatra team along with Purushottampur Namhatt centre, enthusiastically participated in this festival. More than 500 devotees joyfully danced to melodious kirtan and relished delicious prasad. This programme was lead by Srimaan Dhirnayak Das, head of Odisha-Bengal padyatra and Srimaan Kalaanidhi Das, head of the namhatta centre. Due to various such programmes organized by ISKCON, people across villages are able to receive spiritual direction in their lives.
