It was a historic day for ISKCON Naperville in the US city of Illinois as Member of Parliament from India and famous Bollywood star, Mrs Hema Malini attended a fundraising dinner for the construction of Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar temple. Attendees present in the large banquet were eager to steer this project towards completion. Temple President Premanand Devi Dasi addressed a gathering of more than 500 people and said that this movement was founded by Srila Prabhupada. She then listed the seven purposes of ISKCON and appealed to create a holy place for transcendental pastimes dedicated to Krishna for the benefit of the society at large. ISKCON Naperville is committed to fulfilling this objective. Being a follower of Srila Prabhupada herself, Hema Malini periodically renders service towards ISKCON. She started her film career in 1963 as a Bharatnatyam dancer and has starred in more than 200 films. If all the privileged and successful people in society are favorably disposed towards charitable work, the day is not far when there will be happiness and prosperity everywhere.
