Preaching efforts in Maharashtra jail | 11th June 22 | HKTV NEWS #shorts

Several social service projects are being carried on by ISKCON Pune and Annamrit foundation. Nandvan project is one such initiative. Recently there was an understanding between ISKCON and Maharashtra police following which special training programmes will be organized for inmates in jails across the state of Maharashtra. This project was inaugurated in the presence of Padma Bhushan Shri Vijay Bhatkar Ji and Director General of Maharashtra Prisons, Shri Atul Chandra Kulkarni Ji, and has been possible due to Mr. Shvetdwip Das, Mr. Janardan Chitwade and Mr. Navnath ji on behalf of ISKCON. In order to cultivate a sattvik mentality among the inmates at Yerwada Jail, Pune, ISKCON devotees are providing basic education along with training for skill development of 50 cows and manufacturing of cow products on about 10 acres of land provided by the jail authorities. Later on, these prisoners will also be able to earn a living outside the jail. Such efforts positively impact societal environment, encouraging people to take to the path of devotion with ease.
