As a result of Srila Prabhupada’s tireless efforts in establishing ISKCON temples throughout the world, today sanatana culture has spread everywhere. These temples have connected several notable personalities to ISKCON. On the occasion of Janmashtami, Indian-origin Prime Ministerial candidate in Britain, Rishi Sunak along with his wife Akshata Murthy, received special darshan of The Lord at ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor. He appreciated the topnotch arrangements made by ISKCON on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. He expressed his gratitude for the hard work put in by more than 1500 volunteers for this festival. He further acknowledged the unprecedented work done by ISKCON during the covid pandemic and even after that which has inspired several thousands of people. He further said that Gita has had a tremendous influence on his life and he is a devotee of Lord Sri Krishna. One can be hopeful that when people occupying the highest positions in society take up to devotional service to The Lord and get inspired by the divine knowledge of The Gita, society at large will be steered in the right direction.
