His first visit to an ISKCON temple was in 2005. At the time, Amani Das had just started his professional career in education and relocated to a different city in the UK where he initiated unique and ground-breaking programmes that would support in eradicating high-level issues present within the city. He believed that Krishna consciousness is the missing link and the ultimate solution so he started chanting and prasadam programmes with his students, their families and other teachers. The project went from strength to strength and after two years, his personal dream came true, the local government provided substantial funds to start taking groups of his students to Vrindavan dham! Amani believed that by visiting Vrindavan dham, the children will no longer view insignificant matters as significant in their minds. Over four years, several visits to Vrindavana took place and local Brajavasi children from Vrindavan also visited the UK as part of this project. Amani went on to become a Senior Consultant in Education and travelled the world extensively and now continues to work in this field as his main profession. His services include continuing to write his book (translating the Bhagavad-gita in poetry format) alongside doing weekly book distribution and harinam in local cities.
