He served as temple president at ISKCON Juhu in the early 90s and also at ISKCON Berkeley for 11 years. He holds other important positions in ISKCON. Most importantly, he is also an internationally recognised, active research scientist presenting the knowledge of Srimad Bhagavatam in entirely scientific language. In January 1990, he organized a conference titled “First International Conference on the Study of Consciousness within Science” in San Francisco. Rasaraja Prabhu’s papers are part of the curriculum at North American Universities, namely Brown University and University of Connecticut. He holds a Master's degree in electronics engineering and a Ph.D. in foundations of quantum physics. He has published more than 45 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, all based on Srimad Bhagavatam. He is currently the director of the Bhaktivedanta Institute, Juhu which is collaborating with BITS Pilani in Consciousness Studies. He has also started the Institute of Semantic Information Sciences and Technology in affiliation to University of Mumbai to conduct Masters and PhD programs in Philosophy of Science. He is a scholar in the ancient Indian Vedic thought, specializing in the Gaudiya Vaishnava Vedanta.
